About Us

We are a group of professional educators, instructional designers, and subject-matter experts who are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of all, and have a common interest in the education, training, and professional development of healthcare professionals and their clients.

Over the past 5-10 years, we witnessed an increasing number of sessions that centered on education in the health professions at the annual AECT convention. We also noticed a core group of presenters and participants attending the sessions. Inspired by common interests, we exchanged names and email addresses, defined our vision, mission, and goals, reached out to AECT leadership, and the Education in Health Professions-Special Interest Group (EDHP-SIG) was born in January 2020.

We now have well over a hundred active members who are working together to foster transdisciplinary collaboration, promote immersion, and facilitate evidence-based practice to advance education in the health professions. Please join us as we seek to “ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.”
